Well, well, well... what do you know? The year is already flying by, I'm already behind, and I've already abandoned all intentions that I set for myself this year. But I suppose it's only month two, so there may still be hope for me yet.
How I saw the month of January going: I thought I would read one fluff book and one classic. My goal for every month this year. What I actually did: Read two fluff books, and got half way through a whole assortment of books (including my classic- Proust).
So let's talk fluff.
Big Little Lies was a must as HBO has been teasing me with the trailer of their mini-series or whatever that is coming out soon. This book did not disappoint. It's one of those "who gets killed?" and "who done it?" type of reads. I read it pretty quickly because it's pretty entertaining.
Sharp Objects... well when life throws you a holiday not too long after you had a snow day... well what else are you supposed to do besides hunker down with another murder mystery. This one is definitely not as much of a must read as Big Little Lies. And, of Gillian Flynn's books, of which I think I've read all... this was my least favorite. But it's still decent.
Anyway... hoping that by March I can get back on track with my goals. I got a lot of loose ends to tie up in February so I'm sure that goal is going to be far off track there too. yay!
